When we had our admission talks with the principal he asked a lot of questions to the children. They could proudly tell they had been to Norway. He plans to go there next year, but has never been there. Steven said to him that he definitely needs to visit Brunstad, since that is the best place in Norway, even in the whole world. "What is Brunstad?" the principal asked. Steven said: "you are working in the NORWEGIAN School and you don't even know what is Brunstad???" I guess he thinks Brunstad is the capital of Norway!
The school is nice and cozy. The classes are small. Maximum 15 children per class. Steven is in a class with only 11 kids. Lynn is in a class with.... keep your breath..... 14 BOYS!!!! She is the only girls.... Aaaaah. She doesn't like it a bit, but she can cope. She just fights back if she needs. And on the second day she came home and said very, very happy that she made a friend, a girl, from grade 2! Grade 1 and 2 are doing a lot of activities together, so that helps! Our tomboy. She refuses to wear pink. The best clothes she can think of are jeans.
Steven looooves everything he learns. He is so eager to absorb all the facts. Last week they started their project about Pengea, the earth during the time of Dinosaurs. Since I had never mentioned this to him, he came home and gave me a lecture. Later he said: you better look up the facts on the internet, other wise I know more than you! Our boy is adapting so well! What a relief.
When they come home they can watch TV for max. 1 hour. Then we do their homework. Usually that is only half an hours work. After a little bit of playing it is already time for dinner. After dinner we sometimes go to the park to run and play soccer. On some occasions, Marco is home early and joins the fun.
Ryan is so happy when the kids come finally home. He misses them during the day. But in the meantime he enjoys the attention he gets during the day pretty much!

Oh SUCH fun updates, Marie! I laughed out loud at Stephen's comment to the teacher about Brunstad--hilarious! And Lynn with only boys, quite a challenge! I'm sure she will do well. Talk to you soon again, my friend!
